How to Buy at Headley’s Auctions

Buying with us is simple. We currently conduct all our auctions Online Only through the HiBid platform. This ensures a fair and transparent bidding process for everyone.

Step 1: Registration

To place a bid, you must register through our auction partner, HiBid.

  • Visit our current auction link on the website.
  • Create an account or log in to your existing HiBid account.
  • Register for the specific auction you are interested in to receive a bidder number.
Step 2: Understanding the Bidding Process

We use Absentee and Internet Bidding only.

  • Absentee Bids: You can place your maximum bid at any time once the catalog is online. The system will automatically bid for you against other bidders up to your limit.
  • Real-Time Bidding: You can also follow the auction as it closes and place bids in real-time to ensure you don’t miss out on an item.
Step 3: Item Descriptions & Previews

Every item in our catalog includes detailed descriptions and photographs. We encourage all bidders to review these carefully.

  • In-Person Preview: If you wish to inspect an item personally, previews are available by appointment at our gallery in Winchester, VA. Please contact us at 540-662-6350 to schedule a visit.
Step 4: Winning & Payment

If you are the successful high bidder:

  • You will receive an invoice via email shortly after the auction closes.
  • Payment must be made according to the terms specified in the auction catalog.
Step 5: Pickup & Shipping
  • Pickup: Winning items can be collected from our gallery during the designated pickup times.
  • Shipping: While we do not ship items directly, we can provide a list of professional third-party shippers who can handle the packing and delivery of your purchases.
