Refund Policy

At Headley’s Auctions, we strive for accuracy in all our catalog descriptions. Please review our refund policy carefully before bidding.

Eligibility for Refunds

Refunds are granted at the sole discretion of the auctioneer. A refund will only be considered under the following circumstances:

  • Authenticity: If an item is determined not to be authentic.
  • Significant Damage: If there is major damage or a significant repair that was not mentioned in the catalog description or condition report.
Important Exclusions
  • “As Is” Sales: All Oriental rugs and items cataloged without specific dates are sold strictly “As Is.” No refunds will be issued for these items regarding age, origin, or condition.
  • In-Person Pickups: For items collected in person at our gallery, any refund request regarding the item’s condition must be made before the item is removed from our premises.
How to Request a Refund
  1. Written Request: All refund requests must be submitted in writing (email is acceptable) within 25 days of the sale date.
  2. Documentation: Please include photographs and a clear explanation of the issue. For authenticity claims, a signed statement from a recognized authority may be required.
  3. Authorization: Do not return any item until you have received official refund authorization from our office.
Refund Details

Once a return is approved and the item is received in its original condition:

  • We will issue a full refund of the hammer price and the buyer’s premium.
  • Please note that we do not refund packing or shipping costs, and we do not offer partial refunds.
